Scholarship winner and committee

Abigail, a South Park High School senior, received the first Park County Democratic Party Scholarship, a $1500 award. Abigail secured the scholarship by writing an essay discussing the 2022 Scholarship Question: “What are the main provisions of the Fourteenth Amendment to the US Constitution, and how are they relevant to today’s discussion of the January 6th Capitol attack and the protection of free and fair federal elections in the United States?”

Abigail received many scholarships at the SPHS Awards Night last Wednesday, most notably, she is a Boettcher scholar, receiving four years of tuition at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Congratulations Abigail, we wish you success and we’re proud to be a part of your continuing educational journey!
